Ditch the instant coffee bandwagon and the cafés. Instead, get the real caffeine kick from the coffee beans picked straight from the coffee plantations at Coorg and Kodai that are available on the website Theindianbean.com.

Created by an advertising professional who prefers to remain anonymous, The Indianbean.com offers coffees from two regions: Coorg and Kodai which are 100% Arabica coffees and single-origin (a term used to describe coffee with a single known geographical origin). The coffee beans are bought from the farmers on asking price and are sold under the brand name Appa’s Coffee.

As a result of the process, they also support the people who grow the coffee and are building a community that encourages indigenous and socially conscious farming practices.

The Indianbean.com was conceptualised after a meeting with a few coffee planters. The idea is that India boasts of some of the best coffee estates in the world but since most of it gets exported, Indians don’t really get a chance to sample them.

They also employ free trade practices, source coffee directly from the farmer and sell it directly over the Internet.
